Skylight adds $25M in debt, pushing credit facility to $75M

What's the deal? Skylight, the family-organisation brand behind the Skylight Calendar and Frame, has expanded its credit facility to $75 million after US$16.2M increase from SG Credit PartnersDealroom has a profile for this one. Try Dealroom → and Wingspire Capital. The additional debt will fund new products and push the company into more channels and markets.

Why now? The raise follows Skylight's biggest year: the business doubled and now reaches more than 12 million customers, including 1.7 million households using Skylight Calendar. SG Credit Partners is a longtime backer, and Wingspire Capital joins the expanded facility.

What's the endgame? Founded in 2014, Skylight started with the Frame for sharing photos and the Calendar for syncing family schedules. The new money will fund its next wave of products.

Those include Skylight Buddy, a routine coach for kids that sold out within a week of launch, and Skylight Assistant, an AI-powered family assistant users can text to manage household tasks.

Who's saying what? "Families have always been at the center of what we build, and as we grow, we can take even more off their plates," said Chia Chung, chief operating officer and chief financial officer at Skylight.

"It's rare to find a company growing this fast and this profitably," said Will Bence, senior managing director at Wingspire Capital.

The signal: Skylight has stayed bootstrapped, reinvesting profits rather than raising equity. Choosing debt over dilution as it scales points to a profitable business betting it can fund growth without giving up ownership.
