What's the endgame? Quotr unifies preconstruction — quantity takeoff, cost estimating, bidding, and procurement — into one workflow. Contractors upload PDF or image plan sets, which its AI reads to count quantities, generate a priced estimate, and produce a client-ready proposal.
Why now? Since its 2024 founding, Quotr has run in production with developers, general contractors, and subcontractors across residential, multifamily, and commercial projects. Customers have cut takeoff time by up to 80%, from roughly 20 hours to one or two, and report 40% more bids submitted per month.
The product. A live procurement data layer tracks material prices, supplier availability, and quote expiry windows so bids reflect current costs. Both contractors and developers can query the Quotr AI Agent in natural language to trace cost decisions back to the drawings, and developers can also use a managed service that delivers estimates and pro formas within days.
"Contractors don't miss out on bids because their numbers are wrong, but because they're not able to get to the bid step at all," said Hanyang Liu, co-founder and chief executive officer of Quotr. "The estimate isn't just a document. It becomes the commercial operating system for the entire project."
What's next? Quotr plans to push into the heavy industrial and mission-critical segment, where scope errors carry the highest cost. It points to the US data centre construction market, projected to grow at an 8.9% CAGR from 2026 to 2031 per Mordor IntelligenceDealroom has a profile for this one. Try Dealroom →, as a target — such builds span more than 20 trade categories, each requiring committed equipment before construction begins.
The signal: Preconstruction remains a paper-and-spreadsheet process, and investors are betting AI can turn the bid into a shared, traceable source of truth. "We backed Quotr because they've built the infrastructure layer the industry is missing," said Kyle Qi, principal at Llama Ventures.
