RGI acquires insurtech D4Next to boost digital distribution

What's the deal? RGI GroupDealroom has a profile for this one. Try Dealroom →, a European provider of digital insurance software, has acquired D4NextDealroom has a profile for this one. Try Dealroom →, an insurance technology company that connects insurance products, distribution channels and digital processes using AI models. Terms were not disclosed. The deal was announced in September 2026.

What does D4Next do? Founded in 2021 by Vito Rocca and Davide Scaravaggi, the company built YOGA, a platform that sits between existing insurance systems and extends them. Its focus is digital distribution: configuring commercial offers across channels, real-time event processing, and omni-channel interactions across mobile, phone and intermediary channels.

What's the endgame? RGI wants to help insurers add innovation gradually without ripping out core platforms. YOGA lets insurers decouple commercial offers from the underlying technical product and connect different core systems and channels.

Why now? Insurers are investing in new products, digital channels and smarter processes, and increasingly need to connect new capabilities with existing technology. YOGA is already fully integrated with the RGI PASS Platform, and customers running the combined suite are live.

"The future of insurance technology is not about choosing between core platforms and agility," said RGI Group chief executive officer Gianni Camisa. "It is about making the technology landscape work together to support faster business innovation."

What changes next? The two companies plan to expand cooperation in markets RGI already serves and are pursuing opportunities in France, where D4Next has an established presence through a local entity set up in 2024. YOGA also brings agentic AI applications that support customer interactions across underwriting, claims and customer service.

The signal: The acquisition reflects a broader shift among insurers toward layering agile, AI-driven distribution tools on top of legacy core systems rather than replacing them. For RGI, folding in D4Next extends its reach from core platforms into the fast-moving distribution layer where insurers are competing hardest.
