The round includes the conversion of $6 million in SAFEs from earlier pre-seed financing, bringing total funding to $13 million.

What's the endgame? Meadow builds an AI "co-manager" that gives operators real-time visibility into physical locations. The software ingests video, audio, labour, and inventory data to monitor team execution, service speed, and store conditions.

Dubbed a "digital secret shopper," it flags bottlenecks and coaches frontline staff while customers are still on-site, and automates repetitive admin tasks. The aim is to close a blind spot for brick-and-mortar firms, which lack the customer journey analytics available to e-commerce sites.

Why now? Meadow says its software grew 6x over the past year and projects another 5x over the next 12 months. It now serves more than nine brands across restaurant, retail, hospitality, and entertainment, generating over $3 million in contracted annual recurring revenue and more than $1.4 million in live ARR.

Who's behind it? Founded in 2023, Meadow was launched by repeat entrepreneurs Max Jai Sim and Abbas Guvenilir with chief technology officer Dragos Velicanu. Sim and Guvenilir previously co-founded real estate startup Modus, which raised $14 million before Compass acquired it in 2020; Guvenilir then led AI and engineering teams at NordstromDealroom has a profile for this one. The hire: Alongside the funding, Meadow named former Toast vice president of enterprise solutions Tanvir Bhangoo as chief revenue officer to drive enterprise expansion across restaurant and retail accounts. The 17-person startup plans to use the capital to expand engineering, product, and go-to-market teams.

"Physical businesses generate an enormous amount of information, but most operators still don't have a clear, real-time understanding of what's happening across their locations," Velicanu said. "We're trying to make the physical world as understandable and actionable as the digital world."

The signal: At $7 million, Meadow's round sits in the top 4% of all-time US seed rounds for food startups. That places real investor conviction behind the idea that physical retail can finally get the same data granularity that has long defined online commerce.
