What's the endgame? The company builds what it calls "an entirely new class of foundation models," trained on billions of action-labeled videos and able to act in real time in unfamiliar environments. It has opened a waitlist for partners seeking early access.
Why now? General Intuition is a sister company to Medal, the service where players upload gameplay clips. Medal is on track for three billion uploaded videos per year, giving the startup a data source rivals lack.
Chief executive officer Pim de Witte says leading robotics and world models train on less than 1% of the action data his company can access. "We train directly on the largest dataset of these, similarly to how Tesla trained FSD, but across more actions and environments," he said.
Where's the money going? De Witte said the round will fund hiring across New York and Europe. General Intuition has now raised more than $650 million, following US$207.1M round in June.
The bet: De Witte argues gameplay maps neatly to real-world autonomy because humans play games and operate robots using the same inputs — vision and controller actions. "On any given day, we see more accidents in sim than across the entire USA," he said, framing the data as fuel for agents that handle hard-to-predict events.
The signal: At $220 million, this ranks among the largest late-stage deep tech rounds ever tied to the Netherlands, underscoring how investors are chasing novel data pipelines to close the gap in robotics and world models.
