The capital will fund the company's FDA submission and its path to commercialization.

What's the endgame? Freyya builds data-driven pelvic floor care tools that combine biosensors with digital health technology. It has finished its product build and clinical testing — including its ERICA study at the University of Utah — and engaged a contract manufacturer for commercial-scale production.

Why now? With development and testing complete, the round arrives as Freyya prepares its submission to the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA). The product is not yet cleared for commercial distribution in the US or Europe.

Who's behind it? Alamo Angels, Texas' largest network of accredited investors, backed a company led by chief executive officer Gabriele Niederauer for the second time, after supporting Bluegrass Vascular TechnologiesDealroom has a profile for this one. Try Dealroom →, which exited in 2023.

"Gabi is the kind of founder we want to back: experienced, highly technical, and focused on solving a meaningful clinical problem," said Sebastian Garzon, managing partner of Alamo Angels.

Niederauer said the financing lets Freyya "stay focused on the milestones that matter most: completing our FDA submission, advancing through the regulatory process, and preparing for commercialization."

The signal: Investor appetite in women's health remains uneven, and an oversubscribed pre-seed for a device still awaiting regulatory clearance points to renewed confidence in the category — and in repeat founders with prior exits.
