What's the endgame? Menos AI helps asset managers build a private, traceable context layer that captures proprietary research, portfolio data, and investment reasoning. It turns scattered knowledge into a structured, reusable institutional asset, then lets AI agents automate research, reporting, and operations on top of it.
Why now? The company launched its Sonαr research agent in August 2025 and has since expanded into enterprise AI infrastructure. It says it now works with some of the world's largest asset managers and hedge funds.
What's the product? Sonαr distils investment ideas from a flood of market updates, sell-side content, and internal memos, using proprietary signal extraction to surface ideas with novelty, timeliness, and market relevance. A forthcoming Voice Scoring feature aims to spotlight contributors who are consistently early and accurate.
What's the pitch? "Asset managers are paid for judgment and execution," said William Wu, co-founder and chief executive officer. "We are building the context layer that connects the two."
The signal: As AI models become commoditised, backers are betting the edge lies in proprietary knowledge rather than the models themselves. "The context layer will be core infrastructure for the next generation of asset managers," Selby said.
