BNP Paribas AM launches euro bond fund betting on Europe's strategic autonomy
What's the deal? BNP Paribas Asset ManagementDealroom has a profile for this one. Try Dealroom → has launched the BNP Paribas Europe Strategic Autonomy Bond, its first thematic fixed-income fund focused on European strategic autonomy. The vehicle invests in issuers across the euro-denominated aggregate bond universe.
The details: The fund is an actively managed, liquid strategy built on the methodology of the firm's equity counterpart, which manages €975 million. It targets both corporate and sovereign issuers across energy transition, digital infrastructure, defence, and food and industrial security.
What's the endgame? BNP Paribas AM is positioning the fund around Europe's reshaping supply chains and geoeconomic priorities. It aims to let investors back the continent's push toward greater security, sovereignty, and independence in strategic sectors.
The product offers "structured access to key corporate and sovereign issuers in strengthening European resilience," said Fadi Berbari, senior fixed-income manager at BNP Paribas Asset Management (translated from Spanish).
The signal: Strategic autonomy has become an investment theme in its own right as Europe rethinks its dependence on foreign supply chains and defence. Extending it from equities into fixed income signals asset managers see durable demand for capital tied to the continent's independence drive.
