Brydon Group backs aerospace data platform NLign to scale digital twins

Try Dealroom →. The Blue Ash, Ohio company makes software that connects inspection, quality, engineering, manufacturing, and sustainment data to individual aerospace and defense assets. The deal was announced on September 25, 2026.

What does NLign do? It links operational data — inspection results, nonconformance records, repair history, and engineering decisions — to digital models of individual assets. The platform complements established systems such as PLM, MES, MRO, QMS, and ERP, turning fragmented data into what the company calls "a visual system of operational truth."

What's the money for? NLign will use the investment to accelerate product development, expand its team, strengthen go-to-market capabilities, and reach more customers and programs. It has spent more than 15 years supporting aerospace and defense work, including programs across the US Department of War and leading manufacturers.

Why now? Manufacturers and operators face pressure to increase production, improve fleet readiness, and manage more complex supply chains, all while working with data scattered across separate systems. NLign aims to consolidate that information into decision-ready intelligence.

What they're saying: "Our customers are being asked to build more, sustain more, and make decisions faster, often while working across fragmented systems and increasingly complex supply chains," said chief executive officer Andrew Tingley. Brydon managing partner and founder Alex Mears cited NLign's "differentiated technology platform, an exceptional team, and trusted relationships with some of the most sophisticated aerospace and defense organizations in the world."

The signal: The digital thread — connecting an asset's full lifecycle from build to sustainment — is drawing investor attention as defense and aerospace programs push for readiness and efficiency. NLign's bet is that operational data becomes far more valuable when tied directly to the physical asset it describes.
