The Financial Institutions Association (FKB) is reviewing the transfer application.
What do they do? Savings-finance firms help customers fund home and vehicle purchases through pooled savings models. The sector now spans a wider customer base, larger balance sheets, and broader product ranges, moving beyond housing and cars.
Why now? The sector has undergone a shift under supervision by the Banking Regulation and Supervision Agency (BDDK), tightening capital structures, risk management, transparency, and customer protections. FKB frames the deal as a step in that institutionalisation.
By the numbers: The sector's assets rose 188% year on year to 501 billion Turkish lira in the first half of 2026, FKB said. Customer numbers passed 1.5 million.
What they're saying: FKB chairman Ali Emre Ballı called the deal "an important development that will further strengthen the institutional structure of the savings-finance sector" (translated from Turkish). He added that the coming period would be defined not only by growth, but by carrying "that growth together with trust, transparency, and strong corporate standards."
The signal: The tie-up points to consolidation in a fast-growing but young Turkish finance segment, where regulators are pushing firms toward stronger capital and higher service standards. Ballı expects a structure in which public and private players "grow stronger together" to lift the sector's credibility within the wider financial system.
