Founded earlier this year by Etienne Boix and Pierre Godet, it runs a platform that matches discharged hospital patients with home care professionals in as little as 18 minutes.
What's the endgame? Relaisanté wants to make going home after hospital "an organised and secure step in the care journey." Its platform maps patient needs and identifies available professionals, sparing hospital teams from calling dozens of nursing practices to find one free clinician.
Why now? In 2024, 12,700,000 patients were hospitalised in France, most returning home afterwards. The startup already equips 315 health facilities and has connected 12,000 professionals, targeting 1,000 facilities and 30,000 professionals by the end of 2027.
The funding will help Relaisanté "cover the full range of patient needs," Boix said. Currently focused on nursing and personal care, it plans to add paramedical services, medical equipment, and other home health offerings, plus an AI layer to anticipate discharges and help hospitals optimise average length of stay.
The company employs 15 people and expects to reach 20 by year-end. It also eyes expansion into other European markets around 2027 to 2028, though it says the priority for now is building solid national infrastructure.
The signal: With ageing populations and squeezed hospital budgets across Europe, startups are betting that better coordination — not more beds — is where the value lies. As Boix put it: "Hospitals are not going to double in size. They must reinvent themselves in many countries."
