What's the endgame? Mintivo specialises in managed IT support, consultancy, cyber security, and automation. Jukes said the buyout puts ownership in the hands of four senior people closely involved in daily operations. "What we're doing now is showing our current and future customers that we are a team that is committed to that next phase," he said.
The company has worked in defence since its formation and has since expanded into manufacturing, professional services, and charities. What's the plan? Growth in managed services is the priority, and Jukes said Mintivo is on course to meet its annual target. The firm aims to scale using systems, automation, and AI rather than constant hiring. It also recruits from within where possible, taking on more apprentices.
The signal: Management buyouts let founders and senior staff consolidate control at a moment of momentum, aligning ownership with the people running day-to-day operations. For a growing regional IT firm, it signals a bet on disciplined, technology-led scaling over rapid headcount expansion.
