What will the money do? The company plans to expand technology that connects learners with disabilities to skills and experience. "This investment from TEDCO will help us continue expanding technology solutions," said Steren, co-founder and co-CEO.
Why it matters: TEDCO frames the deal as a bet on both accessibility and Maryland's innovation economy. "Maryland's innovation economy is strengthened when more individuals have access to the tools and opportunities needed to pursue education, develop skills and participate in the workforce," said Troy LeMaile-Stovall, CEO of TEDCO.
Katherine Hill Ritchie, senior director of Venture Funds at TEDCO, said the platform "was designed to help users identify education, career, internship and entrepreneurship opportunities based on their interests."
The signal: The check is modest, but it points to state-backed capital targeting a specific gap — accessible tools linking education and work for learners with disabilities, an underserved slice of the edtech market.
