Blackstone takes 24.7% of Eurowind Energy, commits $2.3B

What's the deal? Blackstone Infrastructure has completed the acquisition of a 24.7% stake in Eurowind EnergyDealroom has a profile for this one. Try Dealroom →, a Danish independent power producer, and committed to invest up to US$2.2B to fund the company's European expansion.

What each side brings: Blackstone is a global alternative asset manager. Eurowind develops, builds and owns solar photovoltaic, wind and energy storage assets, holding 1.5GW of operational renewables at the end of last year and a 56GW development pipeline.

What's the endgame? The investment backs Eurowind's goal of becoming a pan-European independent power producer, targeting 1.5GW of new capacity each year through 2030. Chief executive Jens Rasmussen said the company expects to build nearly four to five times as much new capacity annually as in 2025.

The signal: Blackstone's long-term stake gives Eurowind the balance sheet to scale renewables buildout across Europe, adding to a wave of large investor money flowing into the continent's clean power platforms.
