CellsBin raises Series A led by 108 BioCapital for rare-cell platform

What's the deal? CellsBinDealroom has a profile for this one. Try Dealroom →, a biotechnology company developing what it calls Rare-Cell Biology, has closed a Series A financing led by 108 BioCapital. The Branford, Connecticut-based startup announced the round on September 22, 2026.

What's the endgame? CellsBin is building its Rare-Cell Intelligence Platform, which combines microfluidics, patented multimodal imaging, single-cell analysis, and artificial intelligence. The goal: make rare cells "visible, measurable and actionable," revealing signals that conventional methods miss.

Initial applications focus on cell and gene therapy monitoring and hematologic cancers. The broader aim is to establish Rare-Cell Biology as a discipline across research, drug development, and clinical medicine.

What's the money for? CellsBin will use the proceeds to accelerate commercial adoption, expand strategic and channel partnerships, advance its product roadmap, strengthen its clinical evidence, and grow its teams.

"CellsBin is building a differentiated platform at the intersection of single-cell biology, artificial intelligence and translational medicine," said Sasha Bakhru, managing partner of 108 BioCapital. He added the platform "could unlock important insights into therapeutic response, disease progression and patient outcomes."

Chief executive officer and co-founder Ali Kabiri called the financing "an important milestone" in the company's mission "to make rare cells visible, measurable and clinically actionable."

The signal: The round reflects investor appetite for tools that sit at the crossroads of single-cell biology and AI, as cell and gene therapies push demand for finer measurement of how treatments behave and why patients respond differently.
