Haelan Capital debuts with first bet on virtual acute care firm NuView Health

What's the deal? Haelan Capital Partners, a new Boston-based private equity firm, has launched with its first investment: a stake in NuView HealthDealroom has a profile for this one. Try Dealroom →, a virtual acute care company. The firm invests at the intersection of healthcare and technology, targeting founder-owned, lower middle market healthcare service businesses.

What does NuView do? Based in Boca Raton, Florida, NuView partners with health systems and provider groups to deliver on-demand physician access in areas such as ICU, neurology, stroke, and infectious disease. Its hybrid on-site and virtual model aims to expand provider capabilities while controlling costs.

By the numbers: NuView has about 150 active providers across more than 60 facilities, and its doctors have treated over one million patients in the US. Becker's Health IT named it one of its "telehealth companies to know" in 2026.

What's the endgame? Haelan pursues control buyouts and pairs capital with operational muscle through its Growth Enablement Model, an in-house team of healthcare executives that supports founders and clinicians. The firm says it wants to reduce operational friction so companies can scale.

Why it matters: "The U.S. is the world's leader in medical innovation, but too much of that innovation never reaches patients at scale," said Gregg Osenkowski, co-founder and managing partner of Haelan Capital. Co-founder Scott Castle framed the firm's pitch as "a better model for healthcare investing: one that provides capital as well as operating talent to help execute."

What NuView says: "We see this investment from Haelan Capital as a vote of confidence in our approach," said Dr. P. William Ludwig, president of NuView Health. The company was advised by Oppenheimer & Co.Dealroom has a profile for this one. Try Dealroom → on the transaction.

The signal: Investors continue to see room in technology-enabled healthcare services, where virtual care can extend scarce specialist coverage to under-served hospitals. Haelan's operator-heavy model reflects a broader shift among private equity firms toward hands-on value creation over financial engineering alone.
