Try Dealroom →, a Côte d'Ivoire-based provider of electric vehicle (EV) charging infrastructure. The deal ran through Enko's Francophone West Africa SME Strategy, structured as a Fonds Commun de Placement à Risques (FCPR). The capital, deployed as a hybrid financing package, will fund the expansion of EV.Tech's domestic network.

What's the endgame? EV.Tech, which it says is the first local firm dedicated solely to EV charging, runs a nationwide network of 70 charging stations. It has partnerships with regional players in transport and fuel distribution.

Why now? Co-founders Florent Thomas and Esther Dagri said the backing helps clear the infrastructure bottlenecks that slow early-stage EV adoption. The investment "will allow us to accelerate the roll-out of our infrastructure," they said in a joint statement, calling electromobility "a practical solution, accessible to the people and businesses of Côte d'Ivoire."

Behind the fund: The deal is the second under Enko's FCPR strategy, following an investment in Burger King Côte d'IvoireDealroom has a profile for this one. Try Dealroom →. The fund targets high-growth small and medium-sized enterprises across Francophone West Africa.

Cyrille Nkontchou, managing partner at Enko Capital, pointed to EV.Tech's execution as the draw. The company "has demonstrated its ability to deploy infrastructure that is essential to the development of Côte d'Ivoire's electric mobility ecosystem," he said.

The signal: Enko is betting on structural shifts across the continent. Senior investment director Cheikh Souleymane Diallo cited "rapid urbanisation, rising fossil fuel costs, technological advances, and the growing commitment of public authorities to the energy transition" as catalysts for sustained growth in West African e-mobility.
