Nyrada raises $8.6M placement to fund Xolatryp heart trial

What's the deal? NyradaDealroom has a profile for this one. Try Dealroom →, an Australian clinical-stage biotechnology company, has raised US$7.76M in a post-IPO equity placement to institutional, sophisticated, and professional investors. Bell Potter Securities acted as sole lead manager and bookrunner.

The terms: The placement issued roughly 19.4 million CHESS Depositary Instruments at US$0.4 each — a 15.1% discount to the last traded price and an 11.4% discount to the five-day volume weighted average price. Participants also receive attaching options at an US$0.6 exercise price.

Why now? The raise follows Nyrada's recent start of a Phase IIa trial assessing the safety and preliminary efficacy of its drug Xolatryp in reducing heart tissue damage and improving heart function in heart attack patients.

What's the endgame? Nyrada develops Transient Receptor Potential Canonical (TRPC) ion channel inhibitors to treat a range of medical conditions. Funds will advance and accelerate its clinical programs, plus support strategic development, working capital, and corporate costs.

The Nyrada board will participate to the tune of US$3.32M, subject to CDI holder approval at a general meeting estimated for February 2027. The company will also run a Securities Purchase Plan on substantially the same terms, targeting an additional US$1.29M.

Managing director and chief executive officer James Bonnar called the raise "a pivotal moment for Nyrada," adding that investor support was "a powerful validation of our science, our team, our novel drug Xolatryp, and our potential to address serious unmet clinical needs."

The signal: At roughly $8.6 million, the raise sits toward the smaller end of the funding spectrum — a modest but targeted top-up that keeps a single-asset biotech's lead program moving through the clinic rather than a bet on scale.
