Saudi lab-tech startup Areeb raises pre-seed to build digital marketplace

What's the deal? AreebDealroom has a profile for this one. Try Dealroom →, a Saudi startup focused on educational technology and research enablement, has raised a pre-seed round led by Golden Assets for Investment. The company plans to use the funding to develop its technology products and expand operations in Saudi Arabia.

What's the endgame? Areeb targets training and skills gaps in research and educational laboratories through a model that combines digital training with the supply of scientific materials. Its platform offers interactive content on lab experiments and knowledge banks, alongside hands-on workshops inside teaching labs.

Why now? The company is building a digital marketplace to supply labs with scientific tools and materials, addressing the logistical challenges education and research bodies face in sourcing and managing supplies.

Areeb developed its model with support from several specialised programmes, including MVPLAB and BOOST within Garage, plus the National Program for Information Technology Development. It is also studying opportunities to expand into regional markets at later stages.

The signal: The round reflects continued investor interest in Saudi Arabia's research and development ecosystem, where startups are targeting the skills and infrastructure needs of the country's labs.
