BIDV raises $7.7M in six-year bond tranche amid wider debt push

What's the deal? Vietnam's BIDV has raised 200 billion VND (roughly $7.7 million) through a private placement of long-term bonds, the bank reported to the Hanoi Stock ExchangeDealroom has a profile for this one. Try Dealroom →. It issued 200 bonds under the code BIDL12622 on September 14, 2026, each with a face value of 1 billion VND.

The terms: The tranche carries a six-year maturity, due September 14, 2032, at a floating rate of 8.2% per year. Issuance conditions include specific terms on swaps and early redemption.

Part of a bigger raise: The placement is one of several recent debt offerings. On September 4, BIDV sold 150 bonds under BIDL12620, raising 150 billion VND with a 14-year term and a fixed 8% rate, maturing in 2040.

Why now? BIDV is tapping multiple channels for long-term funding. Through a public offering completed September 9, it raised over 3.48 trillion VND, distributing more than 34.8 million subordinated bonds — 80.31% of the planned volume — across three tranches with terms of seven to 10 years.

The signal: One of Vietnam's largest state-linked lenders is turning to the bond market to lock in long-dated, subordinated capital. The mix of private placements and public offerings points to sustained appetite for bank debt as BIDV shores up its funding base.
