Induvita raises $800K seed to modernise gynaecological tools
What's the deal? Norwegian medtech InduvitaDealroom has a profile for this one. Try Dealroom → has raised US$906.6K in a seed round led by Hallgrim Bjørvik and Bjørn Åge Brandal, with participation from former investors. The funding brings its total raised to US$2.16M.
What's the endgame? Founded in 2022 by midwife Hege Hansen and gynaecologist Stine Andreassen, Induvita is redesigning gynaecological equipment. Many common tools, including the speculum, have seen little change since the 19th century.
Why now? The money will fund the commercial launch of Vega, a redesigned vaginal speculum, while development continues on Iola, a catheter used to induce labour.
Induvita's first products, the Runa and Ayla training simulators, are now sold globally. They exceeded US$120.9K in revenue during their first year on the market.
Hansen said the founders identified "significant gaps in women's health equipment," adding that current tools "weren't designed for their intended purpose, yet have been accepted due to lack of alternatives." Andreassen said the goal is to build "medical devices that enhance both clinical outcomes and patient experience."
The signal: The round sits in the upper half of comparable deals by size, a modest but notable mark for an early-stage medtech targeting a long-overlooked corner of women's health.
