Crosschq rebrands as Brilliant AI, backed by Bessemer, to build "hiring intelligence

Try Dealroom →, merging three HR tech platforms — Crosschq, candidate verification tool ApplicantX, and behavioral assessment platform Traitify — into a single company. The San Francisco firm is backed by a new strategic investment from Bessemer Venture Partners.

What's the endgame? Brilliant AI wants to close recruiting's blind spot: the gap between pre-hire evaluation and post-hire performance. Its data engine is trained on more than 200 million hiring outcomes, so each decision refines the next.

The platform combines three pillars — reference and interview intelligence from Crosschq, identity and fraud protection from ApplicantX, and psychometric assessments from Traitify.

Why now? Generative AI has made it cheaper to flood application pipelines with fake candidates. Citing Gartner, the company says one in four job applicants could be fraudulent by 2028, so it builds identity verification into the screening workflow.

"Every hiring product on the market functions in isolation," said chief executive officer Michael Fitzsimmons. "Brilliant connects them into one system that learns."

By the numbers: Brilliant AI launches with more than 500 enterprise clients, including DeloitteDealroom has a profile for this one. Try Dealroom →, McDonaldDealroom has a profile for this one. It integrates with over 40 talent and HR platforms and holds Platinum Workday partner status alongside links to Oracle, SAP, iCIMS, Greenhouse, and Salesforce.

The company also unveiled Brilliant MCP, an integration layer built on the Model Context Protocol. It lets enterprise AI agents plug into Brilliant's models to automate screening, scheduling, and verification without replacing existing systems.

For now, Crosschq, ApplicantX, and Traitify keep their names. Existing contracts, account teams, and integrations stay intact as features gradually merge.

The signal: The launch reflects two forces reshaping HR tech — consolidation of fragmented point solutions and the scramble to defend hiring pipelines against AI-generated fraud. Brilliant AI is betting that connected data, not standalone tools, becomes the moat.
