Crosschq rebrands as Brilliant AI, backed by Bessemer, to merge three hiring platforms
What's the deal? CrosschqDealroom has a profile for this one. Try Dealroom → has relaunched as Brilliant AI, uniting three HR tech platforms under one brand to create what it calls the "hiring intelligence" category. The San Francisco company combines Crosschq with candidate verification platform ApplicantXDealroom has a profile for this one. Try Dealroom → and behavioral assessment platform Traitify, backed by a new strategic investment from Bessemer Venture Partners.
What's the endgame? Brilliant AI wants to close recruiting's feedback loop between pre-hire evaluation and post-hire performance. Its data engine is trained on more than 200 million hiring outcomes, which it says refines future recommendations with every decision.
The platform bundles three pillars: reference and interview intelligence from Crosschq, identity and fraud protection from ApplicantX, and psychometric assessments from Traitify.
Why now? Generative AI has lowered the barrier for bad actors to flood application pipelines with fake résumés and deepfake video interviews. Citing Gartner projections that one in four job applicants could be fraudulent by 2028, Brilliant embeds identity verification directly into screening.
The company also aims to standardize Quality of Hire, a metric long tracked through proxies like keyword matching or subjective manager reviews, by linking pre-hire signals to actual retention and performance.
"Every hiring product on the market functions in isolation," said Michael Fitzsimmons, chief executive officer of Brilliant AI. "Brilliant connects them into one system that learns, so every résumé review, assessment, interview, reference, and fraud check makes the next decision smarter."
Enterprise footprint: Brilliant AI launches with over 500 enterprise clients, including DeloitteDealroom has a profile for this one. Try Dealroom →, McDonald's, MarriottDealroom has a profile for this one. Try Dealroom →, Pinterest, and WPP. It integrates with more than 40 talent and HR platforms and holds Platinum Workday partner status, alongside ties to Oracle, SAP, iCIMS, Greenhouse, and Salesforce.
The company also unveiled Brilliant MCP, an integration layer built on the Model Context Protocol. It lets enterprise AI agents plug into Brilliant's hiring models to automate screening, scheduling, interviewing, and verification without replacing existing applicant tracking systems.
Crosschq, ApplicantX, and Traitify will keep operating under their own names in the near term, with existing agreements and integrations intact as features gradually merge.
The signal: The consolidation reflects how AI is reshaping recruiting on both sides — arming bad actors with fraud tools while pushing vendors to bundle point solutions into unified, data-driven systems. Whether "hiring intelligence" sticks as a category will depend on how much clients value one connected pipeline over best-of-breed tools.
