What's the deal? Vessel Vanguard, a maritime maintenance and asset management platform, has completed a merger with SeaLogsDealroom has a profile for this one. Try Dealroom →, a digital logbook and compliance system. The combined company now operates as Vessel Vanguard, LLC. Financial terms were not disclosed.

What's the endgame? The merger pairs Vessel Vanguard's maintenance scheduling, service records, and inventory tools with SeaLogs' digital logbooks, voyage records, compliance features, and crew management. The goal is a single platform covering vessel and fleet operations end to end.

Who does what? Brian Hagan, chief executive officer of Vessel Vanguard, leads the merged business. SeaLogs founder Kylie Tomlin becomes president.

"Operators don't want more software. They want one platform that actually covers their operation end to end," Tomlin said.

What changes for customers? Existing services stay fully supported while the integrated platform is prepared for release. The company says customers of both platforms will keep receiving support without disruption, with rollout details to follow.

The expanded platform targets ferries, tourism operators, workboats, ports, government fleets, commercial operators subject to US Coast Guard requirements, and recreational boaters.

The signal: The deal reflects a push toward consolidating fragmented maritime software into a single source of truth. As Hagan put it, the merger aims to remove "the last gaps" between maintenance and full fleet management.
