Samudera Indonesia raises $42M in Sukuk to fund three new vessels

What's the deal? Samudera IndonesiaDealroom has a profile for this one. Try Dealroom →, a shipping and logistics company, has raised US$45.6M through the latest issuance under its Sukuk Ijarah program. The Indonesian firm plans to use the proceeds to fund two chemical tankers and one container vessel.

Why now? The 2026 issuance is the third under the company's Sukuk Ijarah program, following US$35.8M in 2023 and US$32.6M in 2025. Together, the three issuances have raised US$114M.

What's the endgame? The new capital targets fleet expansion, directing funds at specialised chemical tankers and container capacity. That points to a bid to grow across both bulk and containerised shipping segments.

The signal: Samudera's repeated returns to the Islamic debt market underscore its standing as an established issuer in Indonesia's shipping sector. Each round has scaled up, signalling steady demand for its vessels and investor appetite for its Sukuk.
