What's the endgame? Founded by Uruguayan entrepreneurs based in Mexico, OrderEAT runs a closed-loop wallet: families top up balances and pre-order through an app, students pay without cash, and vendors manage menus, inventory, nutrition, and sales in real time. It operates in more than 600 schools across Mexico, Chile, Argentina, Uruguay, and Peru, serving over 250,000 active students.

Why now? The company's regional network grew from 400 to 600 schools in under six months, and it wants to reach one million active students within 18 months. Part of the capital will strengthen its Chilean operation, where it already runs in more than 50 schools, with more installations and closer support for vendors.

By the numbers: At Oak's Leadership SchoolDealroom has a profile for this one. Try Dealroom → in Mexico, OrderEAT reported a 70% jump in sales, cut checkout time from two minutes to 20 seconds per student, and saved nearly four hours a day in management after two years.

The founding thesis, from Matías Craviotto, Juan Manuel Rodriguez, and Luis Pedro Carrero, targets a concrete problem: cash acts as a trust filter in school cafeterias. Families unsure how money will be spent simply do not send it.

The signal: Backing from Chile's best-known local funds points to the country as a launchpad for a broader regional push. "This capital is to install well, support well, and grow in Chile," said Craviotto (translated from Spanish).
