Nearby Computing raises €680K to scale cloud-to-edge orchestration

What's the deal? Nearby ComputingDealroom has a profile for this one. Try Dealroom →, a Spanish deeptech company, has raised €680,000 in growth equity from the Spanish Society for Technological Transformation (SETT) as part of a €1.4 million financing operation. The money will fund development of NearbyOne, its platform for managing distributed cloud-to-edge environments from a single control plane.

What's the endgame? NearbyOne lets organisations orchestrate infrastructure spanning networks, applications, and AI without stitching together separate tools for each domain. The platform is vendor-agnostic, running workloads across any hardware vendor, cloud provider, or network — so companies can switch vendors later without complex migrations.

Why now? Chief executive officer Josep Marti says enterprises face the same shift: infrastructure that once sat in one place now runs across sites, clouds, and vendors. "Managing it one piece at a time doesn't scale anymore," he said.

Where it's used: Nearby's technology already runs in sectors where reliability matters most. Service providers use it to orchestrate 5G Core and RAN vendors as a single fleet; retailers deploy AI applications across hundreds of stores; and energy firms manage distributed assets across power networks to improve grid operations.

Resilience is built in. When outages hit connectivity or the central cloud, critical workloads keep running locally at the edge, limiting disruption to business-critical processes.

The signal: The transaction runs through the Next Tech facility, funded by Spain's Recovery, Transformation and Resilience Plan under EU Next Generation Funds, which aims to strengthen financing for deeptech startups and scaleups. As IT environments grow more distributed, orchestrating them from one point of control is shifting from a future consideration to a business necessity.
