What's the deal? OptioDealroom has a profile for this one. Try Dealroom →, a Georgia-based customer engagement platform, has closed US$647.1K Series A round from private investors. The money will fund a new software-as-a-service (SaaS) delivery model and expansion into new regional markets.

What's the endgame? Optio started as an on-premise platform serving the country's largest financial institutions. The SaaS model opens a delivery channel for less-regulated sectors that need faster rollouts, including e-commerce, retail, pharma, and healthcare.

Why now? "This funding round lets us continue working on what we have proven in Georgia and take it further," said co-founder and chief executive officer Shota Giorgobiani. Optio will keep serving its on-premise enterprise clients while broadening its international presence.
