Pagaya secures $700M auto financing deal with Neuberger

What's the deal? Pagaya TechnologiesDealroom has a profile for this one. Try Dealroom → (NASDAQ:PGY) has signed a forward flow agreement with Neuberger Specialty FinanceDealroom has a profile for this one. Try Dealroom → (NBSF) to purchase up to $700 million of auto loans sourced through its network of auto lending partners. It is Pagaya's first forward flow agreement with Neuberger, and its second auto forward flow deal overall.

Why it stands out: At $700 million, the commitment ranks in roughly the top half of comparable deals — a sizeable single source of committed capital for a company still scaling its auto business.

What's the endgame? Pagaya connects more than 35 lending partners with institutional investors across personal loans, auto loans, and point-of-sale lending. The agreement adds a predictable, long-term source of funding to keep pace with origination volume flowing through that network.

Why now? The deal follows record growth in Pagaya's auto platform. Its auto network volume reached an annualized run-rate of $4.8 billion last quarter, contributing more than 75% of the company's year-over-year network volume growth.

NBSF manages over $5 billion across 50-plus portfolio companies since the strategy launched in 2018. Led by Peter Sterling, the group has cumulatively invested more than $16 billion through 80 global origination partners.

What they're saying: Pagaya chief financial officer Jon Dobres said the deal "reinforces our diversified range of funding solutions, providing predictable, long-term capacity." Sterling called it "a natural extension of the relationship" that "signals our confidence in the platform as it continues to expand."

The signal: Committed forward flow deals let alternative lenders lock in funding ahead of demand rather than raising it loan by loan. For Pagaya, deepening ties with an established credit investor points to a strategy built on matching capital availability to a fast-growing, AI-underwritten loan pipeline.
