China's Deep Material raises $15M to scale AI-driven materials research

What's the endgame? Deep Material applies AI to materials research and development. The company plans to use the funds to keep developing its M-Loop intelligent system, replicate and expand its M-Lab automated high-throughput experiment platform, and grow its M-Data materials dataset.
What else is the money for? The round will also fund a distributed self-driven lab network called OPL (One Person Lab) and recruitment of specialists. The goal is to extend the company's AI R&D capabilities into more materials fields.
The signal: The raise sits in the upper tier by deal size, a marker of investor conviction in AI-led materials discovery as a research approach.
