Arch Systems raises $30M to scale AI factory agents beyond electronics

What's the deal? Arch Systems, a manufacturing data and AI platform, has raised $30 million in a late-stage venture round led by Vistara GrowthDealroom has a profile for this one. Try Dealroom →. The Palo Alto company runs "always-on digital factory experts" for many of the world's largest Tier-1 electronics manufacturing services (EMS) providers.

What's the endgame? Arch unifies fragmented factory data — from equipment, manufacturing execution systems, and legacy databases — into a single platform. On top of that, it deploys AI agents that investigate defects, downtime, and parameter deviations, then surface fixes for floor teams to validate.

Where's the money going? Arch will use the capital to advance its agentic AI roadmap, expand from EMS customers to original equipment manufacturers (OEMs), and enter regulated markets including life sciences, defense, automotive, and aerospace. It also plans to build out its global channel partner network and go-to-market team.

Why now? Manufacturers face increasingly complex production environments while experienced factory staff grow harder to replace. That gap raises demand for technology that can detect and resolve production issues at scale.

Co-founder and chief executive officer Andrew Scheuermann said the platform builds "AI agents that wake up, investigate every defect, downtime event and parameter deviation, and close the loop before a human is involved." He added that customers are "already seeing real gains in planning accuracy and quality metrics like scrap rate and first-pass yield."

The investor view: John O'Donoghue, a partner at Vistara Growth, called Arch "a genuinely differentiated vertical AI platform" protected by "proprietary IP and a decade of encoded domain expertise." He noted that "the category remains largely whitespace."

The signal: The $30 million round sits above the median for its type, reflecting investor appetite for vertical AI applied to industrial operations. As agentic AI moves from pilots to production floors, Arch is betting the same playbook that won over electronics manufacturers can extend to regulated, higher-stakes sectors.
