Try Dealroom →, a Brooklyn-based fintech, has raised US$8.57M seed round led by Blockchain Capital to build software that manages private credit transactions on the blockchain. What's the endgame? Today's private credit market is fragmented, with nonbank lenders relying on separate providers to make loans, keep records, and distribute payments. Tare plans to use the funding to build software on the Avalanche blockchain that creates digital records of loans and automates the administrative work of managing them.

Why it matters: CEO Kevin Miao argues that intermediaries absorb the gap between what borrowers pay and what investors earn. Using mortgages as an example, he said middlemen inflate the rates borrowers pay while lowering investor yields. "We deserve to have a system that works for us [and] doesn't extract from both sides," Miao said.

Who's behind it? The cofounders bring credit and crypto experience. Miao launched BlockTower CreditDealroom has a profile for this one. Try Dealroom →, US$1.29B institutional private-credit fund; Lucas Vogelsang cofounded tokenization platform Centrifuge; and Keerthi Moudgal led development at Kinexys, J.P. Morgan's blockchain unit. The three left their roles at the end of 2023 to start Tare.

The competition: FigureDealroom has a profile for this one. Try Dealroom → runs a blockchain-based lending platform, Centrifuge tokenizes real-world assets, and Octaura streamlines institutional credit trading. Tare is not chasing those products directly, said Aleks Larsen, a general partner at Blockchain Capital. "The old way of doing things is the competitor," he said.

The signal: Tare's round sits in the top 5% of all US seed rounds in artificial intelligence by size, a sign of investor appetite for blockchain infrastructure aimed at real-world financial plumbing rather than speculative trading.
