Danish insurtech Norlix adds $1.5M seed extension from EQT alum, footballer Delaney

What's the deal? NorlixDealroom has a profile for this one. Try Dealroom →, a Danish digital insurance broker less than a year old, has raised US$1.47M in a seed extension from a group of new investors. Founder and chief executive officer Jens Grønlund confirmed the round to ForsikringsBrief.

The backers: The investors include Kasper Knokgaard, a former partner at private equity firm EQTDealroom has a profile for this one. Try Dealroom →; footballer Thomas DelaneyDealroom has a profile for this one. Try Dealroom →; lawyer Anders Birkenfeldt; Halfspace AIDealroom has a profile for this one. Try Dealroom → partners Rasmus Nørregaard and Mikkel Bjørn; and angel investor Simon LyndegaardDealroom has a profile for this one. Try Dealroom →.

Why now? The money follows Norlix's seed round in March, when it raised US$4.4M led by venture fund Seed Capital. Grønlund declined to disclose the new investors' stake.

What's the endgame? Norlix runs a platform that uses data to assess how well a company is insured against its risks, targeting small and medium-sized businesses. Roughly 80% of its revenue comes from firms with up to 10 employees.

What's the money for? Grønlund said the funds have no single purpose but will "modne" (mature) the business — developing the digital platform, hiring, and taking market share. Norlix aims to expand into more markets.

Complementary skills: Grønlund said he prioritised investors who bring more than capital. Knokgaard, who spent over 16 years at EQT until 2024, can advise on funding and scaling; Birkenfeldt adds legal expertise; the Halfspace partners bring AI knowledge; and Delaney contributes on "performance and professionalisering" (professionalisation), according to Grønlund.

Knokgaard said Norlix stands out because, unlike other players in the sector, it built its digital processes "from scratch with technology and AI as the foundation." (translated from Danish) He added that the model has "great potential" to scale to other markets.

The traction: Norlix went live in October 2025 and announced in May that it had passed 300 customers. Grønlund would not give an updated figure, saying only that "the growth has continued." The company, founded by David Harboe and Grønlund, now has about 40 staff at its Copenhagen headquarters.

The signal: The raise sits in roughly the 67th percentile by size, a modest but above-median top-up for an early-stage insurtech. It reflects continued investor appetite for AI-driven automation in insurance broking, a historically manual, advice-led business — and the pull of named operators over pure capital.
