Try Dealroom →, a Tokyo startup that makes AI-designed, 3D-printed prosthetic limbs. The investment, announced in September 2026 through the NX Global Innovation InvestmentDealroom has a profile for this one. Try Dealroom → partnership, came alongside a capital and business alliance agreement.
What does the company do? Founded in 2017, Instalimb uses proprietary AI algorithms and dedicated 3D printers to produce prosthetic legs quickly and at low cost. It targets emerging markets such as the Philippines and India, aiming to widen access to quality prosthetics.
Why now? Instalimb plans to expand into regions where prosthetics remain scarce — including South America, Africa, South Asia, and ASEAN countries. Serving multiple markets requires a global supply chain spanning manufacturing, procurement, inventory, shipping, and local delivery.
What's the endgame? The company has made India its central fabrication hub, running its own factories for prosthetics, specialised 3D printers, and filament. NX GroupDealroom has a profile for this one. Try Dealroom → will help build the supply chain moving those printers and materials worldwide, drawing on its logistics network across 56 countries and territories.
This is not NX's first backing. It made an initial investment in Instalimb in February 2024, supporting warehouse operations in India and the international shipping of filament and 3D printers.
"Building a global supply chain that reliably delivers printers and materials made in India to the world is, right now, a critical theme that will determine our success," said Yasushi Tokushima, Instalimb's chief executive officer (translated from Japanese).
The signal: The deal shows logistics giants moving from carrier to strategic investor, using supply-chain expertise to back startups tackling social problems in underserved markets. For Instalimb, distribution — not just manufacturing — is now the deciding factor in its global ambitions.
