Freight platform Sendy raises $2.2M bridge to build logistics SaaS

What's the deal? South Korean freight platform Sendy AI has raised US$2.52M (roughly $2.2 million) in a Series B bridge round. Hyundai Investment PartnersDealroom has a profile for this one. Try Dealroom → contributed US$1.68M and Colz Dynamics added US$838.4K.

What's the endgame? Sendy runs a platform that connects shippers and carriers directly, launched in 2018. This year it introduced sendyXDealroom has a profile for this one. Try Dealroom →, an AI-based transportation management system that ties dispatch registration, real-time tracking, proof of delivery, and settlement into one environment.

Why the pivot? Sendy pegs the domestic road freight market at about US$134.1B, yet tasks after a match — location checks, work reports, payments, settlement — still lean on phone calls, messaging apps, and Excel. The company is shifting focus from matching to systematising that scattered post-match work.

sendyX connects to existing logistics systems such as TMS, OMS, WMS, and ERP via API. The move adds a subscription fee to Sendy's transport-commission revenue and targets manufacturers and distributors that run their own logistics teams, not just carriers.

Where the money goes: The funding will back sendyX feature development and customer acquisition, with the goal of letting operators see an entire shipment on a single screen.

"Sendy is shifting its business from sendy, which connects shippers and carriers, to sendyX, which digitises transportation operations as a whole," said chief executive officer Yeom Sang-jun (translated from Korean). He said the round would help refine the product and build a base for using operational data the market has not accumulated.

The signal: A quick re-raise at the bridge stage points to investor appetite for logistics software that monetises operational data beyond one-off transactions — moving matching platforms up the value chain into recurring SaaS revenue.
