Lioness lands $1M credit line from JPalmer Collective for functional snacks

What's the deal? LionessDealroom has a profile for this one. Try Dealroom →, a functional fruit snack brand made for women, has secured a $1 million asset-based line of credit from JPalmer Collective (JPC), a lender focused on women-led consumer brands. The facility, announced September 15, 2026, is expandable up to $5 million and will fund working capital, debt reduction, and growth.

Why now? Lioness launched in June 2026 across more than 1,900 TargetDealroom has a profile for this one. Try Dealroom → locations, plus Amazon, Target.com, and TikTok ShopDealroom has a profile for this one. Try Dealroom →. It added 330 SproutsDealroom has a profile for this one. Try Dealroom → stores in August, sharply raising its need for cash to fulfill orders.

What's the endgame? Founded by Nicky Jackson — a former KelloggDealroom has a profile for this one. Try Dealroom →'s and PepsiCo executive who also built retailer discovery platform RangeMeDealroom has a profile for this one. Try Dealroom → — Lioness sells single-serve snacks in three variants: Energy, PickMeUp, and Calm. Each is designed for a specific moment in a woman's day.

Why debt over equity? Jackson chose an asset-based line to avoid the trade-offs of venture funding. "I knew I wanted to retain control of Lioness and have access to flexible financing that would support our growth and scale with us," she said.

JPC founder and chief executive officer Jennifer Palmer said the firm moved early. "We got in early with Lioness, right as it was hitting shelves, and we broke a few of our own rules to make it happen," she said, adding the deal "didn't fit into our traditional box."

The signal: JPC commits at least 50% of its portfolio to women-owned and women-led businesses, with a focus on natural products and CPG. The Lioness deal shows asset-based lending emerging as an alternative to equity for early-stage consumer brands that want to keep control while scaling retail distribution.
