The Padel Club nets £3M to triple its UK court network
What's the deal? The Padel Club, a Wilmslow-founded operator of padel centres across the UK, has raised £3 million in growth equity to fund the opening of eight new sites. Why now? Padel is one of Britain's fastest-growing sports. Some 860,000 adults and juniors played it at least once in 2025 — more than double 2024's figure, according to the Lawn Tennis Association.
Where it's expanding: The company opened the first of eight planned sites in Handforth, Cheshire, this month, with clubs in Chester, Liverpool, Knutsford, Sheffield, Cardiff, Brighton, and Sutton Coldfield to follow. That will take its total number of courts to 85.
By the numbers: Last year's expansion into Trafford and Cheltenham, plus strong performance at existing sites, drove roughly 100% revenue growth in the first half of 2026 against the same period a year earlier.
What's the endgame? The Padel Club, which offers court hire and coaching, wants to triple its footprint. Its portfolio already spans flagship sites at TraffordCity and Gloucester Quays, plus clubs in Cheltenham, Handforth Dean, and Wilmslow.
The raise deepens an existing relationship. In 2024, The Padel Club became the first Cheshire-based business to receive funding from NPIF II. "This latest investment reflects our commitment to the business and its UK-wide ambitions," said Louise Chapman, investment director at PXN Ventures.
The signal: Investors are chasing padel's momentum, and The Padel Club's doubling revenue shows why. With demand outpacing supply, backers are betting that whoever builds courts fastest captures a fast-expanding market.
