Vesta buys Belgian auction-software firm Aucxis in first Belgium deal

What does Aucxis do? Founded in 1983 and headquartered in Stekene, the company runs two divisions serving customers across six continents. Its E-Trade unit provides auction platforms for fish, flower, and fresh produce markets, covering bidding, billing, settlement, and back-office integration.
The other half: Aucxis's RFID division sells hardware and software for asset identification, tracking, traceability, and workflow automation. Its customers span industrial, logistics, pharmaceutical, healthcare, and event markets.

"Aucxis expands our specialist auction software portfolio alongside Newline and Infoscience, while also bringing proven RFID capabilities across a range of industries," said Tom Withers, portfolio manager at Vesta. The company said it plans to share expertise across the group while preserving Aucxis's autonomy and culture.
What the founder says: "Joining Vesta Software Group marks an exciting new chapter for Aucxis," said chief executive officer Geert Vonck. He cited Vesta's long-term perspective and its commitment to "preserving the identity and entrepreneurial spirit" of acquired businesses.
The signal: The deal reflects the steady consolidation of niche, deeply embedded vertical software into buy-and-hold groups. For Vesta, Belgium marks a new market; for Aucxis, four decades of specialist auction and RFID software now sit inside a larger international network.
