Waterfield Advisors opens two GIFT City funds for Indian investors chasing global markets

Why now? Waterfield noted India accounts for about 3% of global equity market capitalization, leaving Indian-only portfolios exposed to a single market and currency. It flagged semiconductors, AI infrastructure, aerospace, and global pharmaceuticals as overseas opportunities, and recommends family offices hold at least 10% in global assets.
The funds sit in Gujarat International Finance Tec-City, operate in foreign currency, and use independent custody and third-party administration.

The signal: GIFT City is becoming India's channel for structured outbound capital, packaging global diversification into regulated, foreign-currency vehicles for a market that remains heavily concentrated at home.
