Sei Labs buys Bilinear Labs, folds team into blockchain development
What's the deal? Sei Labs has acquired Bilinear LabsDealroom has a profile for this one. Try Dealroom →, a data analytics and indexing platform, in a deal announced in September 2026. The Bilinear team will join Sei Labs to work on Sei Network, Sei Giga, and other projects. Terms were not disclosed.
What changes? Bilinear Labs will cease operations on September 14. Its Rust-built platform indexed hundreds of billions of events and launched BYOABI technology.
What's the endgame? Sei is a blockchain network, and the acquisition brings Bilinear's indexing expertise and engineers in-house. The talent will now contribute to Sei's own infrastructure rather than run a standalone product.
The signal: The deal is a classic acqui-hire — buying a company chiefly for its team and technology. For blockchain projects racing to scale, absorbing specialist data and indexing talent is increasingly a faster route than building it from scratch.
