Who does what? ARCB leads capital formation through its network of family offices and institutional investors across the Middle East, Asia, and beyond. Kanzun runs deal sourcing, due diligence, and portfolio work in Malaysia, while Healthcare Triangle handles technology transformation and readies companies for US capital markets.
Why now? The launch follows ARCB establishing its Asia-Pacific base in Kuala Lumpur in April. It marks the firm's first platform in ASEAN and a step in its regional expansion strategy.
What's the endgame? The fund targets healthcare, aesthetics and wellness services; medical devices and healthcare product distribution; and health technology and AI-based solutions. The aim is a corridor linking Malaysian companies to Middle East capital and, eventually, US public markets.
ARCB group chief executive officer Dr Udesh Chaskar said the partnership creates "a corridor connecting Malaysian healthcare companies with capital from the Middle East and, subsequently, the US capital markets."
Why it matters: Kanzun chief executive officer S. Loganathan said Malaysia has many healthcare entrepreneurs with strong businesses that still "operate on a relatively small scale from the perspective of international capital markets." The fund aims to close that gap with growth capital, better governance, and technology adoption.
The signal: Established in 2022, ARCB holds an investment mandate spanning 10 sectors, from energy to tourism. It plans further sector-specific platforms in ASEAN, positioning Gulf capital as a growing route to scale for Southeast Asian firms.
