Try Dealroom →'s "TianGe Project," is deploying the "Fuyao Project" — what it describes as the first cloud-collaborative space computing constellation. Its pitch is running AI computing in orbit rather than solely on the ground.

Why now? The sum raised within half a year is more than three times the total the company secured across five rounds over the previous five years. It announced the raise on September 11 at the China Computing Power Conference.

By the numbers: Star Test Future says 37 GPUs using advanced manufacturing processes are deployed in orbit, with 39 payloads operating stably. It claims the first on-orbit use of 12nm process GPUs in China and 7nm globally, with one device running for more than four years.

What could go wrong? Chief executive officer Cang Jirong framed on-orbit performance as the real test. "Space computing power should not be a concept that only stays on PPT, but a landed on-orbit productivity," he said, adding that unlaunched technical routes are "nothing but empty talks."

The signal: Space computing became one of 2026's hottest hard-technology sectors after Elon Musk tied SpaceXDealroom has a profile for this one. Try Dealroom →'s value to an "AI + Space" logic, predicting AI could account for 99% of the company's worth within four or five years. In China, capital has poured into the field — and Star Test Future, founded in 2020, is being rediscovered as an early mover with commercial deployments to point to.
