Prime Capital closes €305M fund for European infrastructure debt

What's the deal? Prime CapitalDealroom has a profile for this one. Try Dealroom → has held the final close of its Prime Sustainable Infrastructure Debt Fund (PSIDEF), raising €305 million. The Frankfurt-based asset manager lends to small and medium-sized infrastructure developers and asset owners across Continental Europe and the Nordics.

Who backed it? Eight institutional investors from Europe and East Asia, including the European Investment Fund. The rest are insurance companies, pension funds, family offices, and foundations.

What's the endgame? PSIDEF is an Article 9 fund under the Sustainable Finance Disclosure Regulation, meaning it targets the decarbonisation of infrastructure and promotes energy efficiency. Since inception, it has financed roughly 70 assets across 10 transactions, spanning battery energy storage, energy efficiency, and social infrastructure.

Its most recent deal involved ElectroFleetDealroom has a profile for this one. Try Dealroom →, a German Energy-as-a-Service provider building decentralised energy solutions for large German offtakers.

Why now? "We are very pleased to have successfully reached the final closing of PSIDEF, which marks an important milestone for our infrastructure debt platform," said chief executive Andreas Kalusche. He added that the firm continues to raise capital for its asset-based strategies to give investors "meaningful diversification across sectors, geographies and asset classes."

The signal: Capital keeps flowing into European infrastructure debt as managers court institutions seeking yield tied to the energy transition. Prime Capital's close lands alongside a wave of comparable vehicles, underscoring how private credit is becoming a core channel for financing the region's decarbonisation.
