By the numbers: The $6 million round sits in roughly the 34th percentile by size among comparable deals, a modest raise reflecting Sparkle's early stage. Founded in 2022, the company has awarded more than 600 franchise licenses in 24 months to multi-unit partners nationwide.

What's the endgame? Sparkle calls its model Quick-Service Pet Care (QSPC), combining recurring memberships, standardised operations, proprietary technology, and hospitality-driven service. The goal is to turn routine grooming from a one-off transaction into a repeatable, membership-based business for franchise owners.

The financing will strengthen the platform behind that growth, giving Sparkle more capacity to support partners and scale the system.

Why now? The raise coincides with a national expansion push. Sparkle has 10 salons open, expects to finish 2026 with at least 20, and plans more than 30 additional openings in 2027, while pursuing multi-unit partners in priority markets.

What they're saying: "The significance of this investment goes well beyond the capital," said Ben Crawford, co-founder and chief executive officer. Ben Jacobs, partner at Digitalis Ventures, said what stood out was "the combination of a differentiated consumer proposition and a team that understands how to build and scale a franchise system."

The signal: Backing from a Mars-affiliated fund points to continued institutional interest in the pet care category, where investors are betting recurring-revenue models can consolidate a fragmented, largely transactional market.
