Playipp buys PADS4 maker NDS to build €11M European signage group

What's the endgame? Both firms sell through channel partners rather than direct, giving them aligned routes to market. Playipp plans to invest in the international partner ecosystem and combine both product lines into what CEO Henrik Mazzanti calls a "superior unified offering."

Why now? The deal marks Playipp's first major expansion beyond Scandinavia. It follows the company's 2024 purchase of Norwegian rival DatabeatDealroom has a profile for this one. Try Dealroom →, which lifted its Scandinavian business to around 60 staff, more than €7 million in revenue, and roughly 50,000 media players.

Mazzanti framed the transaction as a turning point. "The acquisition is a major step for PLAYipp in becoming a truly relevant international software provider," he told invidis, adding: "One plus one equals more than two."

The signal: Consolidation in the European digital signage software market is accelerating beyond the biggest players. Mazzanti confirmed further acquisitions are already on the agenda, positioning the enlarged group as one of the region's leading independent vendors.
