Petit Pot raises seven-figure Series A to scale French-inspired desserts

What's the endgame? The company plans to use the money to build its brand, accelerate product innovation, and expand distribution. Founded in 2014 by Michelin-starred pastry chef Maxime Pouvreau, it now sells organic and conventional dairy and plant-based desserts, from pot de crème to rice pudding.
Why now? Petit Pot argues the US refrigerated dessert aisle is ripe for a premium overhaul, still largely shaped by legacy pudding brands. "The category has been stuck for years with low expectations, and uninspiring choices," said chief executive officer Eric Lallart.

This summer, it launched a protein-added pudding range, now stocked nationally at Whole Foods Market, Wegmans, Costco, and Target.
The signal: Investor interest reflects a broader bet that everyday indulgence categories can support premium, ingredient-led brands.
