GenHealth.ai raises $16.5M to put AI agents inside provider back offices

What's the endgame? Founded in 2023, GenHealth.ai builds agents that complete revenue cycle workflows across electronic health records, payer portals, and other systems. They handle intake, eligibility, prior authorisations, billing, and denials — running inside the tools providers already use rather than replacing them.
Why now? The company says revenue has quadrupled in the past six months, with its agents on track to take more than 75 million actions inside customer systems over the next year. It has raised $30 million to date.

"Since implementing GenHealth's AI across intake and prior auth, we've seen a 4x productivity increase and are on track to save nearly $1.2 million annually," said chief executive officer Sanjay Doddamani.
Chief executive officer Ricky Sahu frames the gap as one of connection, not intelligence. "The problem with automating healthcare administration isn't just the AI — it's that the AI is disconnected from the workflows and systems providers already use," he said, adding that GenHealth's own model is trained on data from 140 million patients.
The signal: The round lands in the top third of comparable deals by size, a marker of investor conviction in agentic AI aimed at healthcare's back office. Flare Capital's Vic Lanio put the thesis plainly: "Provider organizations do not need another system of record. They need the work done."
