Fundraise

Forus raises $150M Series C at $3B value for AI drug-access tools

What's the deal? Healthcare automation startup Forus has raised $150 million in a Series C round at a $3 billion valuation. Bain Capital Ventures led the round, with Accel, Thrive Capital, General Catalyst, Redpoint VenturesDealroom has a profile for this one. Try Dealroom →, BoxGroup, and Pear VCDealroom has a profile for this one. Try Dealroom → also participating. The financing brings the company's total funding to over $300 million.

What's the endgame? Founded in 2023, Forus uses artificial intelligence to help patients get prescribed drugs faster. After a doctor writes a prescription, its platform handles insurance coverage, financial assistance, and pharmacy steps, drawing on data from millions of cases. The service is free for providers and patients and is used across all 50 US states.

Why now? The raise comes just months after Forus announced more than $160 million in May. "We take it as increased conviction from our existing investors and partners in the model, in our traction and how fast we're growing," said chief executive officer Sahir Jaggi. He said the new money will fund technology to meet growing customer demand.

What else? Beyond patient access, Forus works with life science and biopharma companies, giving drugmakers data on where patients and doctors hit problems and how medicines perform. Bain CapitalDealroom has a profile for this one. Try Dealroom → partner Kevin Zhang called it "one of the fastest growing companies across the entire Bain Capital Ventures portfolio."

The signal: Investors are pouring money into AI tools that speed patient access to medicines, with Latent raising $80 million in March and Courier Health securing $50 million in April. Forus's round sits above the 95th percentile for US health Series C deals all-time, underscoring sharp investor appetite for the sector. "I think it's critically important that we have this network that works with insurance, doctors, pharma companies and patients to get everybody access to the care they need," Zhang said.
