Try Dealroom →, a Singapore-based decentralized perpetuals exchange, has raised $7 million in an early-stage round valuing it at $70 million. Backers include Valisa Capital Markets, Lucidity Capital, and Republic CryptoDealroom has a profile for this one. Try Dealroom →, which structured the token component of the SAFE-plus-token deal.

What's the endgame? The company is building a retail-focused DEX that pairs self-custody and transparency with the speed, leverage, and tooling of centralized exchanges. Founded by former executives from OKX, Binance, and MEXCDealroom has a profile for this one. Try Dealroom →, it says it is already a top-10 DEX on CoinMarketCapDealroom has a profile for this one. Try Dealroom →.

Who's backing it? Valisa, Lucidity, and a consortium of proprietary traders — specialists in options, futures, and structured products — joined, with several making their first crypto allocation. Republic Crypto, Republic's token advisory arm, provided strategic support.

Why it matters: At the 30.5th percentile for early-stage crypto rounds by size, the $7 million raise is modest — but the investor mix is the signal. Traditional derivatives traders are willing to fund on-chain infrastructure, pitching decentralized derivatives as a market-structure play rather than a crypto-native experiment.

What's the pitch? "We built the product after seeing where centralized exchanges break user trust," said chief executive officer Kai. The platform is targeting large retail traders instead of market makers, with a Trader Revival Account that funds accounts matched to what users previously lost on the exchange after liquidations.

What's next? The capital will fund development of CEX-grade features. Notably, the company says it is not relying on airdrops to attract users, instead emphasizing loyalty and retention over short-term incentive farming.

The signal: Antarctic Exchange is betting retail traders want familiar centralized trading tools with the custody and transparency of a DEX — and Wall Street derivatives investors are backing that thesis in a market that has often prioritized liquidity providers and power users.
