Reworld buys three Long Island recyclers to build new processing hub

The three businesses will form the new Lindenhurst Material Processing Facility (MPF). Terms were not disclosed.
What each side brings: Reworld, based in Florham Park, New Jersey, provides sustainable waste solutions across a global network. The acquired companies have spent 40 years serving businesses on Long Island, according to president Steve Macchio.
Why now? The Lindenhurst facility sits near four Reworld Thermomechanical Treatment Facilities, letting the company expand waste processing, transportation, and resource recovery in one region.
What changes for customers? Reworld says the deal creates a more integrated service on Long Island, from collection through processing and recovery. The hub will complement existing lines including ReDrop (wastewater treatment), ReDirect360 (zero waste-to-landfill), and ReMove (waste logistics).
"By combining the deep expertise and proven track record of these companies with the scale and reach of the Reworld network, we are creating a more integrated experience for customers in the region," said Brendan Ferretti, executive vice president of business development and M&A at Reworld.
What's the endgame? Reworld is building out resource recovery, recycling, and reuse capacity while reinforcing its existing relationships with municipalities and businesses on Long Island.
The signal: The deal reflects continued consolidation in the waste sector, as larger operators absorb long-standing regional players to tie collection, processing, and recovery into a single network.
